Soul of a Tree

I hadn't drawn in nearly 4 months and I was starting to go crazy. I was just uninspired, frustrated and tired...but finally I felt a flash of inspiration, which I desperately grabbed by its skinny neck and pinned down as it struggled and writhed in my hands...and I sat down to paint skulls, of all things, as it rained and thundered outside, while I chugged mug after mug of bitter tea. How morbid.

I don't think I've ever felt so goth in my life.

But the lines came so easily and I could imagine the drawing in my mind before I even started painting...I knew I was on to something. I'm keeping the skulls to myself for now, but in the meantime here is a doodle I painted a couple of days ago...

It was my first time experimenting with ink in my sketchbook (which is made with very crappy paper by the way, but I still like it.) and I'm quite pleased with the result! Hope you like it as well. Plenty more to come my friends, plenty more to come.
